February/March

February started off with our show team back a WEC weeks 9 & 10. Beth Wilbur and Danika K moved up to the 2’6” Low Adults and took Champion! Stargazer and Valentine Mehas had top ribbons in the opportunity short stirrup and won the Valentines Day Braiding Contest 🥰. George Mehas and Robin Hood where dapper in the opportunity short stirrup and had lovely trips. Alexandra Mehas and Smitten 57 made great progress in the low children’s and we look forward to seeing this pair more in the show ring. Jessica Borton rode Legolas owned by Kim Tarnapoll to a 6th place in the $15000 USHJA National Hunter Derby. Madeline Kottman and Valor took 3rd and 4th in the Low Children’s Jumpers. Raquel Mazur and her two mounts Flex Star & Grain D’ Ry joined our team for one week with impressive rounds in the welcome and Grand Prix. We also celebrated Stef Copeland’s birthday with pizza and wine before the Prix. It was a successful two weeks at the show.

March we welcomed a lovely jumper mare Byolga who is being leased by Yasmine Lacaillade. We are so excited to have Yasmine back at the barn and can’t wait to see this pair make their show debut in April! WEC results from Winter Spring Forward: Valentine Mehas and Stargazer were Champion in the Short Stirrup Equitation and Reserve Champion in the Short Stirrup Hunters! We are so proud of the pair for all of their hard work and dedication. Sarah Livingston and Robin Hood were Champion in the USHJA Hunter 2’. Beth Wilber and Danika K had great rounds in the Low Adult Hunters, winning a class on Sunday! Danika also had top ribbons in the USHJA 2’6 Hunters earlier in the week with Jessica Borton, taking a 2nd over fences and winning the under saddle! Alexandra Mehas and Smitten 57 made great progress, taking 1st place in the Low Childrens Hunters on Sunday. Smitten 57 was also Reserve Champion during the week in the USHJA 2’6 Hunters with Jessica! Raquel Mazur and Grain D’ Ry joined us again and had a gorgeous round in the $10,000 Futures Prix on Saturday Madeline Kottman and Valor were 3rd and 4th in the Low Children’s Jumpers. Madeline’s mare Rollin So Wicked also had a successful first show in the .85m Jumpers on Friday! April should be a fun filled month with spring activities and more showing!
